1. 【辨析】suppose/assume/guess/imagine assume 表示“假定,猜想”解,含有较为强烈的武断成分,往往指一件尚未证实或尚存在意见分歧的事作为自己论断的基础。所以,后接名词从句时一般用陈述语气表示。 guess 作“猜”解时,不一定表示猜准,后接名词、代词或从句作宾语;当后面加介词 at 时,更带有“猜猜看”的意思。 suppose 其意义比较广泛,有时仅用于陈述自己的意见,相当于汉语的“猜想”,无确切的根据。所以,与 assume 相反,suppose 常接虚拟语气的宾语从句。 imagine 意思是“想象,以为”,后接名词、动名词或名词从句。
